Going beyond all expectations
is something that rarely happens and is greatly cherished.
I have travelled to Jamaica since the seventies, attending
many reggae concerts in yard, as well as many throughout the
USA and assorted countries. Good vibes have been experienced
everywhere. However, the opportunity to finally feel the Sierra
Nevada World Music Festival in person was certainly one of
the reggae highlights of my ever increasing life.
The gold and green foothills
of the Sierra Nevada are exuberant, painting a colorful backdrop
for any outdoor event. The natural beauty of the area is enhanced
by the diverse multi-cultural people who come in peace, with
their children, with their friends, and with an open heart
to experience the music and the message performed by many of
Jamaica's greatest artists.
I can only say, the smooth and efficient coordination of staff and volunteers,
the serious thought given to the needs of all who attend, including press,
artists and fans alike steeps the brilliance of SNWMF with a feeling
of one big family reunion.
My nickname is the Festival
of Beautiful Children. The children in attendance are happy,
playful, colorful, creative souls lighting up the path of unity
and brotherhood exemplified by the music. If a picture is worth
a thousand words, here is my thesis on how to live your life
in love and happiness.
My deepest love and i-preciation
goes out to Warren, Gretchen and the whole SNWMF crew, the
magnificent artists, the many unique and diverse sellers, and
of course, the multitudes of press and fans alike. We are a
village raising a new generation, representing a new hope and
a new day. Through our combined efforts Better Mus Come!
