MR. JOSEPH HILL {CULTURE}MAY JAH ALMIGHTY GRANT YOU THE REST YOU DESERVE,AND ALSO PROTECT THE FAMILY YOU LEFT BEHIND.Culture's music as he once said was not for dollar, but for brother. He was a great influence in my life so much so that my friends and I had to form a group called TRINITY. According TRINITY Mr. Hill was the spiritual father of EBOW SEY of blessed memory, Ebow Sey, was the spiritual father of MIGGY LECKZIS of Cape Coast, and Leckzis is the father of EBOW TSIKTSA who later became the leader of the group.Mr. Hill left behind millions of great grand children through his good works. We the reggae loving take consolation in the legacy he left behind.{NATTY NEVER GET WEARY}Rasta neva dies. Mr Hill has travelled to enjoy his good works in ZION.

It's with deep sorry and heavy heart to accept the news of the sudden departure of one of the greatest Messengers of all times. Brother Joseph "Culture" Hill has inspired us, he changed our lives and his message made this world a better place. Even though I continue to ask "Why Him Oh Lord" as I cannot imagined why the Lord has recalled him so soon, I believe the Lord loves his best. His work and his message would forever live with us. We will forever miss him. May the Lord grant Brother Joseph Hill a Perfect Rest. CNN

Hills, Your departure has created an unfillable vacuum in the world of wisdom but you have made your mark, a mark that perhaps is the greatest ever. You will always be remembered by those of us who have immensely benefited from your preaching of wisdom. My heart is torn apart by your unannounced departure but you came as a messiah sent by Jah. Your missioned is accomplished and you have returned to your maker. I am sad but take consolation in the fact you are in zion with the maker. Hero!!! rest in perfect peace. Bye bye.

Jah blessed me with the honor of driving Joseph around Boulder one afternoon 17 years ago - he was the sweetest and most humble man I have ever had the privilege of meeting. My 3 year old daughter Jahmila was with me and I will always treasure the memory of Joseph and Jahmila skipping down the side-walk hand in hand. I can't find the right words to express how important Culture's music is to me and the world and how much Joseph will be missed. Jah guide and protect his family

Culture's music was an inspiration to me when I was growing up as a youth. His music lifted me up when I was down, it guided me like a shephered when I went astray. His music kept me away from unrighteouness and iniquity workers. As a humble african, I wish I have wings of a dove so that I can fly to him and be at rest. Through Joseph, I understood the meaning of RASTA (Righteous Africa Stands Tall alone.)May his soul rest in perfect peace.

Hear comes another big blow to the Reggae fraternity! Why Jah, Why Joseph "Culture" Hills this time around. I got to know about this great Rastaman's death thru a gud friend of mine (Aaron) when we were in one of the remotest villages on a Wedding (Come-together) function in Mazabuka 4 another gud friend of mine (Mooya). At first i couldn’t believe it as i thought it was just a hoax. Just this morning when i sat on my desk & logged on to the Culture website - http://www.cyberus.ca/~jdooley/index.htm, i almost fainted. Headline: Joseph "Culture" Hill dies. I screamed innerly to the amusement of my office mates.............whaaaaaatttttt? Oh God why Joseph Hill? Ohooo, it’s really a big loss for us staunch reggae fans (In Zambia). His album 2 7's clash, will never stop to teach me something. He was indeed a great Man of the times. I will surely break on the news to my gud reggae friends & brothers in Zambia (Abel – Farai, Wilson – PJ, Phinias – King Finago (Bro), Frederick – Frego (Bro), Michael – Lulu, Dennis – D-Man, Whitney – Mwaaba, Bob – Shamwali (ina India currently & many more in & out of dis country. My personal deepest & sincerest condolences to Pauline (wife), Kenyatta (Son), Telford Nelson (Culture & Band mate), Albert Walker (Culture, Band mate & Cousin) & lastly indeed to the Reggae Icons, Fans, Revelers etc. May his soul rest in eternal peace. Give thanks to such a supreme artist and a great man with unique insight and the ability to put peoples plight to music. My outstanding memory of this man is being in The Gambia, in a remote village and a Gambian bringing out his cd player and just playing Culture for the next few hours. Through this interlude it came to light how profound culture was/is in the whole of Africa. The young and the old absolutely adore this man on the continent. When Africans at home take this man to their hearts only greatness can come out of it. I was blessed to be in attendance at the Academy and feel very priviledge to be one of the few to behold this man's performance, just to find how things unfolded days later. Brother Hill your message is in the music, and will live in the hearts of all those that beleive in freedom and justice for humanity

He will still be remember as Bob Marley has been always remembered. When ever i hear the music of Culture my soul and spirit goes well and everthing that i do goes on well with. All lovers of cultures be happy that he is still alive for us and take it that he is been sent or asleep and he will wake up soon. I was just waiting for the time to be 8:30 on Saturday to listen to the programme "This is Reagae where the tour of Joseph Hill will be talked about, all of a sudden I had a call from a friend and the message was : Joseph Hill is Dead and I said, "Whaaat" I never thoght of Joseph will die so soon but it has hapened. God keep his soul. It was in 1983 when I heard "Peace and Love" by Culture and since then I have loved Cultures songs till now. Joseph Hill still lives, He may be dead, but his music still lives. The last time I saw Joseph Hill was during Bob Marleys' 61st Birthday in Accra Ghana. On that day, culture really livened the reggae session. It can not be described you will only feel it if you were there. Culture, Jah be with you.

I have grown up on the biting lyrics of Culture. Followed the group around the caribbean once I had the time, trinidad, grenada, Jamaica, Barbados etc. This is a real loss for Me and most certainly his family, the group and the music world. reggae has lost another Icon. Hearing of the shockingly sudden passing of the great Joseph Hill of Culture has certainly shaken my world immensely. I had the priviledge of meeting him several times during tours and I can honestly say that he shall forever be remembered as one of the most loving, symphatetic and touching ambassadors of reggae music. He truly dedicated his life to reggae music and touring relentlessly no matter what. It is with great sadness that I express our condolences to Pauline and the rest of the Hill family on behalf of I and Lion, who was and shall forever be a good friend of Joseph's. Reverend Joseph.... we mourn but you have come and spread the words and gone. Although your mission is completed it is too sudden and it is hard to accept. I have followed you from Gamabia, Germany and Florida. What a great loss! You are needed somewhere else to continue the higher intelligence and good prophecy. We will miss you and your place will be unoccupied. Give our blessings to the most high Marcus Mosiah Garvey. Condolences from Sulayman and friends all over The Gambia, West Africa.

Brother Joseph (Tesfa Yesus {Hope of Yesus} which he told me was his Ethiopian Orthodox name when we met about 10 years ago, was greatly loved! His life was an inspiration and hope to us. When I heard he went to sleep I was sad because I'll miss him and his words of righteousness. The day he died on the Ethiopian calendar it was the great Holy Day of the Holy Transfiguration (when our Lord Yesus Christ met Moses and Elijah on the mountain. As I played an LP, two 7's clash, I listened to 'I'm alone in the wilderness' and realize that Jah called him, in his own words, "I ask myself how can I get over but Jah stretched forth his hand and say come up in my palm oh litte son". May his soul live on in the bosom of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Condelence to his family, friends & fans Zionawit

How inspiring Joe Hill had been to the downtrodden! He had never relented in preaching peace, love and happiness for all mankind. He was on a crusade: to make the world a place of equality for posterity. I remember in my country Sierra Leone how his presence on a peace concert brought a lull in the brutality and bloodshed that engulfed the whole country; the guns and the bombs were silenced at least for a while as Joe Hill's musical instruments and vocals blared out at the national stadium. Has he died? No. Great men don't die; they go to rest in Jah's kingdom. Joe is in perfect peace. Shalom!

I attended one his final representation in Switzerland on 11 August 2006. It was a cold rainy day, but the lousy weather couldn't stop me from attending this event. Culture came on stage, he was wearing sporting clothes however, I realised he wasn't as active as two years ago when I saw him in Zurich. He gave us wonderful sounds as usual, playing some of my favourite songs. A gap has been created which will never be filled by anyone as charismatic as Culture. Thank you Culture and JAH bless you! One of the sweetest voices to me in reggae music, Joseph Hill AKA Culture will be missed by all his fans, world wide. At times I remember when I have my house work to do and I put on his music to play I would finish what ever I have to do without even realizing how much was done in such a short time due to me dancing and attending to whatever task was before me. To the family of Mr. Joseph Hill I thank you for the great man, that is of your blood line for the wonderful music he has given me and the world. Again Thank You and may he rest in peace. Rastafari Blessings Always!
