My heart sunk when I heard the news. Culture was one of the first Reggae bands I ever heard, and Joseph Hill's vocals had such an impact on me that I ran out and bought Two Sevens Clash & Lion Rock right away. I'll never forget the first time I saw Joseph Hill. He was performing at a local club and as I excitedly entered, a gentleman opened the door for me and said "Greetings sister, please come inside." There was such much love and respect in that greeting, I can still feel it today. You can imagine my surprise when I later saw that same gentleman take the stage and found it was none other than Joseph Hill himself. The last time I saw him was in April of this year. His performance was wonderful..he seemed to be really enjoying himself.. laughing, spreading his wisdom and love to everyone. As I was taking some shots for a local promoter, I was right in front off to myself and on several occasions, he talked directly to me from the stage. I'll never forget those moments plus the many others in between. This is such a loss to us all but we have his music to keep him always with us in spirit. Joseph Hill surely rests in Zion now with the Father. My dCulture and all of those who had the honor and blessing to be his close friend. He was a true Rastaman. Blessed Love... RIP Mr. Joseph Hill. One of the artists that got me hooked on reggae forever with amazing songs like Natty Never Get Weary, Jah Jah See Dem A Come, Love Shines Brighter, International Herb or the more recent Revolution and so many many more. He was, is and always will be among my favourite artists of all time and I feel blessed that I got to see him spreading the vibes, love and positivity from a stage multiple times with the last time being only a week before the sad news of his passing. My god. I was really shocked to hear about his passing away. His name, voice and message is well known all over the world. One can see it in this guestbook as well. He brought people together and even on the other side of the world, in Germany where I come from people know his lyrics and sang with him at the concerts. Joseph Hill is one of my favourite singers and I call his name together with Bob Marley and Burning Spear. He will live on through his music. He lived for the music and he passed away while being on tour and performing his music. And what a sweet voice and nice reggae music he brought to the people. I am very thankful for that. Just one week ago I saw him live in Germany and I remember how he was laughing and making the crowd scream and sing. Now he's gone - sometimes it goes so fast you cant believe.
